The inactive option is used to disable customers that are no longer being sold. This is the suggested alternative to deleting customers, because when a customer is deleted the sales history is lost.

 

Inactive customers cannot be sold to.

Many reports in the Exclude Options section can optionally have inactive customers excluded from the report.

Inactive customers are highlighted in red in the customer search screens.

Inactive customers can be removed from the search screens by enabling system option 130.
