Item Shortage Adjustment Utility

The Item Shortage Adjustment utility is provided for those times when you oversell an item. This utility allows you to view and/or adjust the ship quantity of each customer that ordered the product within a specified date range.

All changes made from this utility will update the invoices, without having to change all the invoices individually.

Some distributors choose to use this window as a tracking tool as well. Because you are able to enter a date range, you can quickly find out who bought a product and how many units they purchased for a given day, week, month, or any period you see fit.

The item shortage adjustments utility even allows you view all of the customers that purchased an item on a given route.

1.Enter the item number of the product you wish to view in the Item Number field. If you do not know the item number, click the search button to open the inventory search window.

2.Update values in the selection controls area if necessary.

3.Click the Find Item button to load all qualifying invoices into the invoice grid.

4.    Go to the Adjusting Shipped Quantity topic for the next steps.

Item Totals

In the bottom right corner of the item shortage adjustments window is the totals for the current item.

The value on the left represents the total number of units ordered and the value on the right represents the total number of units to be shipped.

As you make changes to the Qty Ship column the corresponding total field will also be updated.

Shortage Totals

Just below the item totals is the shortage total. This field displays how many units you are short for the pending deliveries.

As you make changes to the Qty Ship column the shortage total field will also be updated.

This field will be highlighted in red until the shortage total reaches 0.
