Mod #953 Password Option / Prevent Blank Required Fields in Files

1. Changes the operation of Inventory File Maintenance and Customer File Maintenance so that they will prevent new entries from being saved until certain specific fields have been filled in (are non-blank).

 

If any of the "required" values are blank (or otherwise not filled in properly) then entrée will not allow the new entry to be saved.

 

Part of the functionality of this feature is to indicate exactly which values failed, so the error-detection system will build a list of problems (such as "Description Line 1 is blank") and present all of the problems to the operator in a single list.

 

2. Adds password option #89 Enforce 'required fields' restrictions in File Maintenance.

This password option was created to control which user accounts will be restricted by this feature. This password option is "off" by default, meaning that the system will NOT perform the "required field" checks.

 

These checks are only performed against new Item or Customer entries, not existing ones.

 

Access: System > Security > User Account > Edit > Settings > Miscellaneous system options list.
