Once you define the manufacturer in Manufacturer File Maintenance you can assign the Manufacturer, Manufacturer's Item Number (as opposed to Vendor Part Number), to an inventory item. The Manufacturer Item Number field can hold up to 15 characters. You can also search the Inventory File using the Mfg Item # column value if you have added these values to your items.

 

1.Use the Inventory ribbon menu click the Inventory tab and find the desired inventory item.

2.Click on the "Vendor" tab > click the search magnifying glass icon on Manufacturer ID.

3.The Manufacturer Search screen will display.

 

 

4.Select the manufacturer from the list and click OK in the search screen.  

5.   Enter a value for the Manufacturer Item Number (This is an optional value).

6.   Click Apply then OK.  

 

Search Inventory by Manufacturer’s Item Number

The "Manufacturer's Item Number" field is now indexed so a search of the Inventory File can be performed using this Mfg Item # column value. Select the Mfg Item # column header and the search box will open above it, then enter your search text.
