This option allows the items taxable status to differ from the main inventory file, when a specific customer purchases the item.

 

•If this customer should pay a tax when purchasing this item enable this option.

 

•When an item is added to the customer's special price file, this option is set to the same value as the inventory file.

 

•For more information on taxable items refer to the Cost/Price Tab section discussed in this chapter.

 

 

 

If the taxable status of an item changes, (ie:.An item was not taxable, but now it is) the taxable option must be updated for every customer that had a special price entry recorded when the item was not taxable. If this measure is not taken the customers with special prices will not be charged tax when they purchase the item, even though the taxable option in Inventory File Maintenance is enabled.
