69. Automatically calculate Base Cost for "Made From" items

 

If this option is enabled, the base cost of a make from item will be automatically derived using the formula

(Real Cost + Freight Rate) / (Yield / 100)

 

•Utilizing this feature will adjust the base cost for the waste factor.

 

 

 

If there are 10 pounds of whole product and an 80% yield factor, by the time the salable product is processed there would only be 8 pounds remaining.

 

Assuming the item that is being processed has a real cost of 2.25 per pound and a 0.00 freight rate, the resulting base cost would be 2.8125

 

(2.25 + 0) / (80/100) = 2.25 / 0.8 = 2.8125
