Editing an Item

1.Enter the item number of the item to edit in the Item Number field and press the Tab key. If the item number is not known, click the search button to open the Inventory Search screen.

 

2.The current data for the item will now be loaded into the inventory file maintenance window. Changes to the desired fields for the item may now be made.

 

3.After the editing of the data fields is complete, click the Apply button to save the changes.

 

Deleting an Item

NECS strongly recommends that items are not deleted from the inventory file, as it will affect the sales history for the item.  The preferred method of removing items is to mark them as inactive by checking the Inactive field.  An inactive item cannot be sold or purchased and may be optionally excluded from key reports such as price lists, on hand reports, order forms, etc.

 

If you must delete an item from the inventory file use the following procedure:

 

1.Enter the item number of the item to delete in the Item Number field and press the Tab key. If the item number is not known, click the search  button to open the Inventory Search screen.
2.Verify the correct item to delete is now be loaded into the inventory file maintenance window.

 

3.Click the Delete Item button.

 

4.A Confirm message box displays "Ready to delete entry for Item #99999. Are you sure?".

5.    Click the Yes button to confirm the deletion or the No button to abort.

 

Recalling Deleted Items

When an item is deleted, entrée marks the item for deletion in the inventory file. However, the item remains in the inventory file until it is packed. If you enter an item number that has been deleted, entrée will display a prompt allowing the user to recall the item. Click the Yes button to recall the item. If the original item should not be recalled, but the original number is needed the inventory file will need to be packed before proceeding.

 

 

 

Items may not be deleted if there is activity in the current period. If there is activity in the current period entrée will warn the user with one of the following messages. Under these circumstances the item will have to be deleted after the current period is closed.

 

This item cannot be deleted because it appears on a current Purchase Order

 

This item cannot be deleted because is appears on a current Invoice
