This field can be used to defining group pricing or as another means of grouping items for reporting purposes.

 

•Enter up to 8 characters for the item group code.

 

•Group code pricing will adjust the price level a customer pays for products in certain groups.

 

 

A customer is assigned to price level 3 in the customer file maintenance window. However, they have group code pricing defined for PAPER set to level 8. Whenever the customer purchases a product with a group code of PAPER level 8 pricing will be charged.

 

 

Group Code pricing overrides standard Special Price, but not Bid Price #1 or #2.

 

Assigning group pricing to a customer:

These instructions assume that the customer file maintenance window is open and the proper customer to edit is currently loaded.

 

1.Select the Group Pricing tab.
2.Click the Add Group Price button.
3.Select the desired group code, in the Group Code column by clicking the drop down menu and selecting it from the list, then press the Enter key.
4.Enter the Price Level the customer should pay for items with this group code and press the Enter key.
5.Optionally enter a Effective From Date for the group code pricing and press the Enter key. If no dates should be associated with the group code pricing leave the effective from date blank.
6.Optionally enter a Effective To Date for the group code pricing and press the Enter key. If no dates should be associated with the group code pricing leave the effective to date blank.
7.Click the Apply button to save the group code pricing.
