The Landed Cost value for inventory items is defined as the total of Real Cost plus Freight.
Since the value is the total of Real + Freight, the Landed Cost field is *not* directly editable since both component values can already be changed.
Most areas of the entrée system that work with cost already have Real Cost and Freight Cost available. We are still generating a "Landed Cost" value and systems like Invoicing will explicitly record a Landed Cost value alongside the existing cost values. In addition, the Pricing system has been updated so that Level Prices and Customer Special Prices may be based off of Landed Cost.
Important things about the implementation of Landed Cost:
•The operation of the Future Pricing system has been adjusted to explicitly record the Freight Cost value associated with the item since Landed Cost is partially based on Freight Cost.
•We felt it was best to lock the Freight Cost into the Future Price value.
•A "Landed Cost" option is available for display in the status area of Create/Change Invoice.
