The Promotions tab allows for the definition of item based promotions that are given customers when they purchase the item. entrée offers two types of promotions.

 

In addition to the features here you can use System Option #195 Allow Promotions to be edited in Create/Change Invoice to expand your control of promotions. See the System ribbon chapter System Option #195 topic for details and setup.

 

 

1.Dollar based promotions, which are entered in the Promotion Grid, give the customer a discount to the normal selling price of the item.

 

2.Buy X Get Y Free promotion.

 

3.    Percentage bases promotions where the amount to be deducted the amount of the promotion is calculated as a percentage of the item's Unit Price.

 

 

Only customers that have the Promotion option enabled, which is located on the Miscellaneous tab of the Customer File Maintenance, will be eligible to receive promotions.

 

•The Promotions system now has the ability to create 99,999 promotions per inventory item.

 

Keep in mind that trying to manage 99,999 promotions on a single item is no small task. The impact on Invoicing will be to slow it down in order to be able to sort through all the promotions to figure out which one applies. We advise to keep the number of promotions per item down to avoid the impact on invoicing.
