There is an option on the Pricing Setup tab of System Preferences to automatically recalculate level pricing in Inventory File Maintenance.

If the Auto Recalculation in File Maintenance option is enabled, the values in the pricing grid will be updated automatically whenever the item is viewed in Inventory File Maintenance. When the settings on the pricing setup tab are changed or if the cost of the item has changed in any part of the entrée system the user will be prompted to save changes to the item, even if it appears as if nothing has changed.

If the Auto Recalculation in File Maintenance option is disabled, the Recalculate Prices button will be displayed on the cost/price tab of inventory file maintenance. Clicking this button will recalculate the level pricing based on the current markup percentages/amounts and the current cost values.

If this option is disabled it can adversely affect items where level pricing is derived as a dollar amount over cost.

Items that are priced using the dollar over cost method must have the level pricing updated at the same time as the cost is changed to preserve the dollar differential between the cost and the selling price.
