This field is used to assign Broker #1 and/or Broker #2 to the customer. The broker will act as a secondary salesperson for the account earning commissions just as the main salesperson would.

 

Now there is support for defining specific commission rates for both Broker 1 and Broker 2 on the "Miscellaneous 1" tab.

 

Broker commission rates take precedence over all other commission types in the system.

 

Enter the salesperson ID of the salesperson that will be designated the customer's broker in this field.

 

The salesperson that acts as a broker must be defined as a broker in salesperson file maintenance to be eligible to receive commissions as a broker.

 

 

A distributor could split the commission between two people. A salesperson that actually visits the customers and tries to sell new products might receive 2½ % commission where as a broker may call the customer on a regular basis to take the orders and receive a 1% commission.
