Broken case items that are tracked by lot work just like a normal lot based item with one exception. Under normal circumstances you probably will only receive the CASE item into inventory. Even if you do receive the actual broken case item into inventory all CASE items will also be listed in the grids of the Assign Lots dialog.
•When a CASE item for the broken case item is listed an asterisk * will appear next to the item number in the Available Lots grid.
•If the lot for a CASE item is assigned, an asterisk will also appear next to the item number in the Assigned Lots grid.
•A message will be displayed below the available and assigned lots grid whenever a broken case item is being assigned.
